Ebay is indeed a great alternative to simple art markets. One Ebay account can open up a wealth of new business to art designers, who traditionally sometimes lack business acumen (but certainly not always!)

Ebay is best suited to small craft items which can be posted across the world cheapily, thus broadening your market. I find US & European Ebay users the most positive and bold with their purchases, willing to trust any seller, so long as they have good feedback from previous sales.

Ebay also offers brilliantly low entry costs (nothing!) so arts and craft designers can 'test the water', without risking much.

Great ideas. I have taken my paintings to several art fairs, but never thought to display them on Ebay.
