Big Brother, the TV series shown worldwide has given the opportunity for ordinary members of the public to enter the house. Following Willy Wonkas example, Channel 4 has teamed up with Nestle to hide winning golden tickets in Kit Kat chocolate bars.

The Golden Tickets, give you the opportunity to complete with other members of the public to enter the house – it is not a certainty that you will enter the Big Brother house, but instead you’ll be entered onto a Short list to compete with other winners of the Golden Ticket. Only one overall winner will enter the house.

And of course, many eBay sellers have jumped on the opportunity to cash in on this event. An eBay search of Golden Ticket, shows a massive 270 items found including some which claim to be “genuine” golden tickets.

One seller has even produced a fact sheet to “DRASTICALLY reduce the odds, and give yourself the best possible chance of joining the other house mates.” Yours for just .99p

The so called genuine tickets, have been selling for up to several thousand pounds, with members out bidding each other to have a chance to become a national tv star overnight.

As expected, many sellers are cashing in on the opportunity and are listing items such as “Big Brother Golden Ticket Kit Kat Bar”. However, a read of the description will reveal all the auction is for is a standard Kit Kat Bar, which may or may not contain a winning ticket.
