For eBay Store owners, there’s a little known but highly effective method of creating more sales & generating more interest in your auctions. Have you ever heard the phrase, “the moneys in the list”? Well, did you know that eBay actually allows you to build your own list of interested members and email them from time to time.

The result is, an official looking eBay newsletter which can be used to showcase your current auctions, include shop & listings headers and most importantly offer a custom message to the interested members.

Contacting members regularly though a newsletter, has shown to increase sales and allow you to build up a relationship with interested parties. Although, eBay does not provide actual email addresses of those who subscribe to your lists and only member names, due to the format the newsletter arrives in – it is likely to have a higher delivery rate than traditional emails and reach more recipients. Sellers sending emails, also need to ensure they do not try to offer any sales away from eBay, only promoting eBay listings and Store inventory.

eBay even allow you to setup upto five different subscriber lists, so you can target your audience precisely. For example, if you were selling cars on eBay, you could setup different mailing lists for different brands of cars you offer.

With a basic eBay shop, you are allotted a basic limit of 100 subscribers. Anything above this becomes chargeable at 0.01p per subscriber. If you run a featured or anchor shop, you are allotted a 1000 or 4000 subscriber base without additional cost.

You can send your first email though “Manage My Shop”, within my eBay. Let me know how you get on.
