As most business owners will tell you, repeat customers are an important part of their success. A loyal customer will not only shop with a business that they know and trust, but they will also refer their friends and family. One of the most effective ways to get repeat business is by letting customers know that they are remembered and one of the best ways of doing this is to send special occasion cards for birthdays, holidays and as special ‘keep in touch’ reminders.
If you are like many people, you are looking for a way to earn money online and enjoy all of the benefits that go along with working for yourself. Setting your own hours, having more control over your income and having more time to spend enjoying life. Whether you currently sell on eBay or are just looking for a terrific way to start your own business, you may want to consider a greeting card mailing business.
What is a greeting card mailing business? Simply put, it’s a business that mails greeting cards for other businesses. For instance, real estate is a huge industry and it’s also very competitive. One of the best ways to stay fresh in a customers mind is to send out regular mailings, but who really pays attention to those boring brochures that arrive in the mail? Instead, it would be your job to explain why greeting cards are so much more beneficial than a typical, cookie-cutter mailer. A greeting card mailing business will not only work with realtors, but also lenders, accountants, medical doctors and other professionals who want to keep in touch with past, present and potential new clients.
How does a greeting card business translate to an eBay business? The answer is simple. You can either start your business by creating a fixed price listing for your greeting card mailing service or you can use eBay to enhance your internet presence. If you want to have a successful greeting card mailing business, you will need a website and an online customer base. With eBay being the largest person-to-person auction website on the internet today, there’s no better way to build your web presence than by selling your business services online. Plus, it’s a way to reach a whole new world of business owners and potential customers.
The best way to start your own greeting card mailing service is by choosing several greeting card designs to make available to your eBay clients. Once they select the design, the number of cards and provide you with the mailing list, you will get to work in signing and addressing each envelope personally. Your clients will need to sign a release form, which gives you permission to sign and mail these cards for the company. This personal approach will let everyone know that their card was hand-prepared and not simply the result of a machine-generated mailing. Instead, customers will feel appreciated and your client will reap the benefits of return business.
When it comes to setting a price, most greeting card mailing services charge anywhere from $3.00 to $3.70 per card mailing, but may vary depending on your local region and competition. Your expenses will include approximately $.50 for a greeting card and the cost of a postage stamp for mailing, which will leave you with a nice profit per mailing. Some greeting card mailing services require that a business order a minimum number of cards but by eliminating a minimum order, you may pick up more eBay business from those who have only a small contact list.

1That’s a great idea, but it does kind of rip the spirit out of what the cards are supposed to be about. Of course, I’m sure the people that would pay for that kind of service are coming up short in that area, anyway. Unless they’re business cards.

2You have to watch when doing mass mailings for third parties. There are SPAM free laws in some states that you have to look out for. However, the mass mailing industry is always booming. This same model can be taken to emailing.
