In part two of this article, we look at a further five ways to keep regular bidders coming back to your eBay auctions.

- Cater to your customers.  With the holiday season fast approaching, it’s important to keep in mind that some people are last-minute shoppers.  This means that offering express shipping options may put you ahead of the rest when it comes to online auctions.  In addition to known holidays, some customers may be shopping for birthdays, anniversaries or just because, and being able to get a quick delivery may entice them to bid on your auctions.  Speaking of catering to your customers, always remember to keep your eBay listings fresh by posting new auctions on a regular basis.  A stale product line may cause your customers to shop elsewhere, so keep adding different products into the mix for added interest.

- Accept returns.  Whenever you buy something sight unseen, such is the case with auctions, there is always the possibility of disappointment.  This doesn’t necessarily reflect the quality of the item that you are selling, but rather the buyer’s own personal taste or preference.  In any case, offering a return policy will give buyers additional confidence in your listing.  If they know that you stand behind your items, they may be more likely to bid.

- Be flexible in terms of payment options.  As an eBay seller, it’s important to accept a variety of payment methods to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to bid on your auction.  Someone who doesn’t have a credit card or bank account, for instance, may not be able to use PayPal.  Therefore, accepting money orders is a must.  Some buyers, on the other hand, prefer to use PayPal or may opt for sending a personal check.  Therefore, it’s important to keep your options open when it comes to payments.

- Take pride in your feedback.  When a buyer completes an eBay transaction with you, he/she has the ability to leave feedback.  As a seller, your feedback is visible by all other eBay members, including both buyers and sellers.  This means that your feedback is important because it’s a reflection of how you do business, and this may determine whether or not others are eager to deal with you in the future.

- Work out problems.  If a buyer comes to you with a problem, do your best to work it out.  Just because there may be an issue now doesn’t mean that this buyer will not shop with you again in the future.  Instead, the way that you handle the situation may actually have more significance than the problem itself.  For instance, a lost shipment may be disappointing to the buyer, but your fast and immediate correction will show him/her that you are trustworthy.
